A mid night attack carried out by alleged armed invaders has left at least three people dead in Mbasombo community of Gwer East Local Government Area in Benue State.

Residents said that the armed invaders simultaneously launched the attacks on Wednesday night in three hamlets of Mbasombo, a community behind the NNPC depot, Apir, closely located to Makurdi, the state capital.

The residents said that many people were still missing at the time of filing this report on Thursday afternoon.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSP Catherine Anene, confirmed the incident to journalists in Makurdi.
