3 lawmakers dump ADC for APC in Ogun

Three members of the Ogun State House of Assembly elected on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), on Tuesday, defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The defectors are the Minority Whip, Jemili Akingbade (Imeko Afon), Adegoke Adeyanju (Yewa North 1) and Wahab Haruna representing Yewa North 11 constituency.

They announced their defection in separate letters read by the Speaker of the Assembly, Olakunle Oluomo, during plenary in Abeokuta.

The lawmakers stated that they decided to join the ruling party after due consultations with their constituents and supporters.

The speaker congratulated the lawmakers for joining the ruling party, saying their defection would boost the party’s structure and the development of the state.

With the defection, the ruling APC now boasts of 25 out of the 26 members of the House.
