3 men arraigned for stealing yams in Ekiti

The police in Ekiti State have arraigned three men, Daniel Werkor (50), Timothy Werkor (49) and Femi Uhambe (35), in a magistrates’ court sitting in Ado-Ekiti for allegedly stealing tubers of yam.

The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that on February 26, at about 8am in Ado-Ekiti, the accused stole tubers of yam valued at N4m, property of one Abdulahi Hammed.

Counsel to the defendants, Barr Adunni Olanipekun, urged the court to grant her clients bail.

The Magistrate, A. O. Owoleso, granted them bail in the sum of N150,000 each with one surety each and adjourned the case to July 9.
