The police in Bauchi State have arrested two men for alleged defilement of a minor in the state.

While Isa Dambam, 55 and Bashar Sabuwar Kasuwa, 27, were arrested, the third suspect, Jibrin Sabuwar Kasuwa, 35, is still on the run, police said.

The elder brother of the victim, Muazu Haruna accused the suspects of having had sex with his 10-year-old sister over 10 times on different occasions.

He alleged that the suspects always lure the girl by giving her N100 whenever she was on errands.

He disclosed that the suspects were exposed on June 16 when someone called and informed him that one of the suspects was allegedly caught having sex with the victim.

He said when the girl was asked, she revealed that Dambam slept with her about 10 times, Bashar two times and the fleeing suspect allegedly had sex with her three times.

According to him, he reported the suspects to Dutsen Tanshi Police Division which led to their arrest after which he paid for medical tests on the girl to examine her health status.

He added that, the 55-year-old suspect sold metal beds at Sabuwar Kasuwa market while the 27-year-old Bashar was an uncle to the victim.

Bauchi State Police Command’s spokesman, DSP Kamal Datti Abubakar confirmed the arrest of the two suspects.

He stated that the case is under investigation after which the suspects would be charged to court.
