The gale of resignation from the Rivers State Executive Council has continued, with three more commissioners, Dr Jacobson Nbina (transportation), Dr Gift Worlu (housing) and Austen Ben-Chioma (environment), joining the fray. This brought to nine the commissioners that have resigned their appointments from Governor Sim Fubara’s government.
Both Dr Nbina and Austen-Ben Chioma were also commissioners during the immediate past administration of Nyesom Wike. The resignations came on the heels of the political crisis that has engulfed the state since the bombing of the House of Assembly on October 29, 2023.
