A Chief Magistrate court sitting in Kano state has remanded three persons in prison custody over alleged abduction of a businessman, Usman Abdullahi.

The trio, Abubakar Abdullahi a.k.a Daffi, Hashim Mustapha and Anthony Nwike were arraigned before Senior Magistrate, Aisha Mohammed Yahaya for the alleged offence.

According to the First Information Report (FIR), Abdullahi was said to have been abducted by unidentified men on the 15th August, 2018.

However, police were able to arrest three of the suspected kidnappers even as they continue the search for the victim.

The matter was reported to the police at Kofar Wambai police divisional office by the father of the victim, one Yakubu Manu, a resident of Sheka Quarters.

The court heard that Manu reported that his son Usman Abdullahi of Kabawa Kwanar Dala quarters had not return home from his business place at Kofar Wambai Market and all efforts to locate him proved abortive.

He said on the 30th August, 2018 at about 11:45am the complainant received a phone call from the victim disclosing that he was held hostage by unknown hoodlums, who threatened to kill him.

The presiding judge ordered that the accused persons be remanded in prison custody as the police intensify efforts to track the remaining suspected abductors and subsequently rescue the victim.
