The Police in Benue State said three suspects involved in an armed robbery operation at Zaki Biam town in the state have been killed.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Moses Joel Yamu, said yesterday in Makurdi that the suspects were killed after a distress call put to the police operatives in the area.

“The DPO Ukum Division along with teams of policemen while responding to a distress call at Shima Ayati in Zaki Biam, were engaged in an exchange of gunfire with some hoodlums at the scene of a robbery operation.

“Three of the hoodlums were decimated while others evidently escaped with bullet wounds. One Beretta pistol with a round of live ammunition, cutlasses and assorted charms were recovered from them,” he stated.
