Three students of secondary school have been jailed for two months by a Senior Magistrate court in Kano state for attempt to kill one Mustapha Muhammad.
The trio, Adam Ibrahim, Abba Musa and Ibrahim Abdul were accused of one-count charge for murder attempt contrary to Section 95 of the Penal Code Law.
Sanusi Muhammad, the prosecution officer told the court that some members of Gyadi-Gyadi vigilante group reported the case to the police.
The court heard that members of the vigilante group saw the accused persons armed with sword, knife and sticks when they attacked Muhammad while on his way home.
“The trio initially attacked him with a knife and when they realised that he was not injured, they hit him in the head with stone severally and injured him. He was later taken to Murtala Specialist Hospital for treatment.
The accused persons pleaded guilty to the one-count charge leveled against them.
The presiding Judge, Senior Magistrate Huda H. Abdu sentenced them to two months imprisonment or pay a fine of N10, 000 each.
