Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested three suspects, Areuro Oke (38), Onos Echabor (47) and Akpofure Emmanuel (45), over an alleged illegal arms transaction.

The Commissioner of Police (CP), Aina Adesola, said the suspects were arrested during a sting operation on Ovieta Street in Ughelli town.

The commissioner explained that the suspects were apprehended during a negotiation for the purchase of a pump-action gun.

 He identified Areuro Oke as the intended buyer, while Onos Echabor and Akpofure Emmanuel served as middlemen.

He further said one pump-action gun and N280,000-the part payment for the illegal arms deal-were recovered from the suspects.
