Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested three suspected kidnappers after they allegedly collected a N2 million ransom from a victim.

The suspects, identified as Usman Ayuba (22), Ibrahim Abubakar (22), and Haruna Dahiru (23), were arrested by the Area Commander of the Ughelli Police Division.

The command’s spokesperson, Bright Edafe, said the suspects were identified by their victim and promptly taken into custody.

He said during interrogation on February 26, the suspects led operatives to a bush along the Iyede axis, where a magazine loaded with 24 rounds of live ammunition was recovered.

According to him, on February 27, the suspects guided the team to another hideout within the same area, leading to the recovery of an AK-47 rifle.

“They were identified by a female victim who was abducted on February 4, 2026, at Olu Avenue, Ughelli,” Edafe said.

“She was released three days later after a N2 million ransom was paid.”

He added that the suspects remain in custody while investigations continue to apprehend other members of the gang.
