Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested three Yahoo boys for allegedly gang-raping an 18-year-old girl in Ogun State.

They are; Tunde Sadiq Taiwo, 22, Damilola Adesina, 20, and Adegoke Amos, 21.

The suspects were arrested following a report lodged by the victim at Ilese Divisional Headquarters, Ijebu Ode.

The victim reportedly told the police that while she was going somewhere around Ita – Ale area of Ilese Ijebu, she was accosted by three young men who rode in a Lexus ES 350 car and blocked her.

In the process, she alleged that the trio forcefully dragged her into the car and drove her to a location where they took turns to rape her at gunpoint.

The spokesman of the command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, on Tuesday, in Abeokuta, told newsmen that following the report, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ilese, SP Yakubu Bala, mobilised his detectives and stormed their hideout where one of the suspects was arrested.

According to him, the one in custody led the police to the other two and they were subsequently arrested.

“On interrogation, they confessed to the crime, claiming to have believed that the police are no longer working hence they could do anything they liked but they were surprised when the police came after them,” he said.

Oyeyemi added that the suspects would be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation and prosecution.
