3000 women participate in Katsina handcrafts fair

At least 3,000 women yesterday took part at the 7th Katsina women handcrafts exhibition fair aimed at improving a platform for boosting trades and businesses in the state.

Speaking at the event, the state commissioner for women affairs Dr. Badiyya Mashi said the fair would assist women to attain an appreciable creativity and skill development of culture and tradition
of the people.

According to her, the women could seek partnership with governments, national and international organisations for economic development as well as make women contribute to state economic growth.

“It is the desire of this administration to empower women and youths by creating avenues and enabling environment for business to grow and flourish in the midst of economic challenges’ she said.

Mashi added that the state government had initiated various policies and programmes to help women and youth achieve self reliance.
