At least 32 Nigerians have been deported from India over alleged involvement in drug trafficking.
Late last month, Delhi Police, in collaboration with the Telangana Police’s EAGLE unit, carried out one of the largest coordinated crackdowns in the country, arresting 50 Nigerians linked to a transnational narcotics network.
Investigators said the suspects were part of a sprawling drug distribution and hawala-laundering syndicate operating across several major Indian cities, Times of India reported.
The group reportedly supplied drugs from Delhi, disguising shipments as legitimate courier deliveries.

Officials revealed that the foreign operatives were working for a Nigerian suspect known as Nick, wanted in multiple cases registered by the EAGLE unit.
According to a senior EAGLE official, Nick is believed to be operating from Nigeria and has around 100 associates in Delhi alone.
“Analysis of the peddlers’ devices showed the network serves over 3,000 clients across India, based on payments traced. In one case, a publisher laundered 20 lakh to Nigeria in collusion with the peddlers, and others collaborated with businesses in footwear and apparel,” the official said.
Of those arrested, 32 Nigerians were recently deported, while seven individuals from whom drugs were recovered face criminal charges.
Authorities said the remaining suspects may also be deported, and investigations continue to identify persons or companies that facilitated money laundering for the syndicate.
