At least, 33 cattle were on Monday evening rustled by gunmen around Yelwan Loshi village of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Muhammad Nura Abdullahi, the State Chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), who confirmed the incident in Jos, said he had informed the Commissioner of Police and the State Government on the development.

He said: “Today Monday, 27/9/2021, hoodlums from Fan District, attacked rearers around Yelwan Loshi, in B/Ladi Local Government area. The gunmen rustled 33 cows. The cows belong to Ardo Mahmud Adam, the Ardo of Riyom district, in Riyom LGA. This nefarious activity is too much for us.
“Today, we will be killed and tomorrow, our cows will either be shot or rustled. Enough of this. For how long should we continue to endure this. We appeal to both government and security agents to rise to the occasion and take immediate action to recover the rustled cows and ensure peace in the state. “
Contacted, the spokesperson for the state Police Command, ASP Ubah Gabriel, confirmed the incident, adding that about 105 of cattle were rustled and 89 were recovered.
