The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has announced that 33 vessels are expected to arrive at Lagos ports, bringing with them cargoes of petroleum products, food items, and other essential goods.

Specifically, the vessels are expected to berth at Apapa, Tin-Can Island and Lekki Deep Sea Ports in Lagos between February 22, 2026 and February 27, 2026.

NPA in its weekly bulletin “Daily Shipping Position” stated that the cargo on board the vessels includes petrol, diesel, crude oil, bulk soybeans, fresh fish, and general cargo.

The arrival of these vessels is expected to boost the local economy and provide relief to consumers who have been facing shortages of essential goods.

The expected arrival of the vessels is a welcome development for the Lagos ports, which have been experiencing a surge in cargo traffic in recent months.

The NPA has been working to improve the efficiency of the ports, including the implementation of a new electronic call-up system for trucks.

The arrival of the vessels is also expected to have a positive impact on the local business community, which has been affected by the shortage of essential goods.

The NPA has urged stakeholders to take advantage of the expected arrival of the vessels to restock and meet the demands of their customers.

It said that 17 of the expected ships contained containers of different goods; the other 16 ships are expected to arrive with bulk gas, diplomatic, bulk urea, empty containers, crude oil, bulk clinker, and blended stock

The NPA noted that seven ships and tanker vessels had arrived at the three ports, waiting to berth with aviation fuel, petrol, containers and general cargoes.

It also stated that 17 ships were discharging bulk wheat, soya beans oil, general cargo, bulk sugar, bulk urea, truck,  fresh fish and containers of different goods at Tincan, Apapa and Lekki ports.
