The Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) has graduated its first 349 Niger Delta ex-agitators in various technical skills to function in the oil and gas industry.

The 349 ex-agitators, who graduated from Bradama – a company owned by an ex-agitator, High Chief Bibopere Ajube, aka Shoot-at-Sight, at Agadagba-Obon, Ese-Odo Local Government Area of Ondo State under the ‘Train, Employ and Mentor’ (TEM) model, will use the training to add value to themselves and ensure peace in the region.

Speaking during the graduation ceremony, the Interim Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Col. Milland Dixon Dikio (rtd), disclosed that out of the 400 ex-agitators enrolled for the training, 51 were expelled for indiscipline and deviant behaviours.

Special Adviser Media to the Interim Administrator of PAP, Nneota Egbe, in a statement, said the new model of training for the ex-agitators was a departure from previous empowerment models, which he said were fraught with poor oversight and limited opportunities for transfer of skills.
