35-year old man arrested for stealing in church

A 35-year-old man, identified as Gabriel Okani, who disguised himself as a seminarian to steal a car, has been arrested by the police

The man had sneaked in during priesthood ordination at Assumpta Cathedral Church of Owerri Archdiocese of the Catholic Church on Sunday to steal the vehicle before he was nabbed.

It was gathered that while the ceremony, which was being presided over by Archbishop Anthony Obinna was ongoing, the fake seminarian was perfecting his plan to steal one of the parked vehicles at the church premises.

He was quickly arrested when he tried to make away with the vehicle.

The Police Spokesperson, Andrew Enwerem, who confirmed the development, said that the suspect was already in police custody.

He said that the suspect came to the church wearing a seminarian robe with the sole aim of stealing a vehicle from the church premises.
