A Kano State High Court has ordered the continued remand of four suspects over the alleged kidnapping of a housewife from her matrimonial home in Sauna Quarters, Nassarawa Local Government Area of the state.

The accused persons—Usman Kafada Kwata, Shafiu Adamu, Jamilu Akilu, and Muhyedeen Warawa—were re-arraigned before the court on charges of conspiracy, armed robbery, and kidnapping.

According to the prosecution, the suspects allegedly attacked and abducted the victim, Aisha Usaini, from her home using dangerous weapons.

The prosecution further told the court that the victim was held in captivity for nine days before being released after her family reportedly paid a ransom of N5 million.

The presiding judge, Justice Maryam Sabo, directed the State Counsel, Barrister Lamido Abba Sorondinki, to proceed with the presentation of witnesses at the next sitting.

The court ordered that the accused persons remain in custody and adjourned the case to February 19, for continuation of the hearing.
