Four brothers in Ushongo Local Government Area of Benue State who killed a man accused of stealing a penis inside a police cell have been arraigned before a magistrates’ court in Makurdi.

The brothers: Aondoyima Asua, Terpav Asua, Terkula Asua and Luher Asua, and are charged with conspiracy, trespass, mischief and murder.

The prosecutor, Sgt Godwin Ato, told the court that the case was transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Makurdi, on January 21, 2022.

Sgt Ato said the letter transferring the suspects indicated that one Vashima Wevergh of RCM Church, Mbator Agbede, Konshisha Local Government Area of Benue State, reported at the police station on January 13, that her elder brother, Moses Wevergh, had been killed.

According to Ato, the complainant said that on January 12, her brother was accused of causing the disappearance of the manhood of one Mr Aondoungwa Asua, and that when Mr Asua raised alarm about losing his manhood, her brother was arrested and the four accused and others at large trespassed into a police outpost at Ikyobo and beat her brother, cut him with machetes and axed him to death.

The Magistrate, Mr Vincent Kor, ordered the remand of the brothers in a correctional centre in Makurdi and adjourned the case to March 15.
