Operatives of Ogun Police Command have arrested four suspects who allegedly burgled a phone accessories shop in Ile Ife, Osun State.
The suspects, Nura Bashir, 20, Auwalu Aliyu, 38, Shuaibu Abdul Rasheed, 25, and Abdullah Usman, 23, were arrested following a report by one Gbenga Siyanbola at Mowe police station.
The complainant told police that while travelling from Osun to Lagos, his vehicle developed a problem at Mowe and while trying to fix it, the four men appeared from nowhere and robbed him of his Samsung phone.
The command spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, on Sunday told newsmen in Abeokuta that following the report, the DPO, Mowe Division, CSP Marvis Jayeola, detailed his detectives to go after the hoodlums.
According to him, the detectives after weeks of painstaking investigation, were able to trace one of the suspects to Ikire in Osun state where he was apprehended. His arrest led the police to arrest his other three accomplices.
“Surprisingly, in the course of investigation, some other phones and accessories which had earlier been stolen from the complainant’s shop were also recovered from the suspects,” Oyeyemi said.
The police spokesman explained that preliminary investigation revealed that, “the suspects had earlier burgled the shop of the complainant at Ile Ife and that the case was reported at A Division Moore Ile Ife.”
He said the suspects would be transferred to Osun State command.
