Gunmen on Tuesday evening kidnapped a man, three other members of his family and a farmer along the ever-busy Okigwe-Ishiagu Expressway in Ivo local government area of Ebonyi State.
The incident happened at Mile 2 Ishiagu in the local government area.
The victims are Ajah Chibuzo aged 41, his wife, his 12-year-old daughter, and the driver of the vehicle.
Daily Trust learnt that the family members were returning home when they were kidnapped.

They were riding in a Sienna bus with registration number KWL 941 PD when the incident happened.
The state police command is yet to confirm the incident.
When contacted, the Special Assistant to the Ebonyi State Governor on Internal Security for Ivo local government area, Hon. Ike Cletus, confirmed the incident.
Cletus, who expressed worry over the rising cases of kidnapping in the area, attributed the development to the non-functionality of the local vigilante group in the area.
It was gathered that the vehicle conveying the four victims has been recovered from the scene and taken to Ishiagu Police station.
Ishiagu in Ebonyi axis, Uturu and Isuikwuato in Abia including Nkpu in Enugu state, both sharing common boundaries have become safe havens for kidnappers.
