Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have rescued four kidnapped victims from their abductors in the state.
The victims were reportedly kidnapped along Ewu–Ajekuta Road at Ewu community in the State.
The Command’s spokesperson, Bright Edafe, said the victims were rescued by the Police in collaboration with other sister security agencies and the vigilantes.
He said the police received a report that five armed men, suspected to be kidnappers, blocked the Ewu–Ajekuta Road and forcefully abducted four occupants of a Toyota Sienna vehicle.
He said the police immediately mobilised in collaboration with sister security agencies and vigilant members of the Ewu community, in pursuit of the suspects with a view to rescuing the victims.
According to him, the coordinated effort resulted in the successful rescue of all four victims, who were taken to a hospital for medical attention.
He said two expended 7.5mm ammunition were recovered from the scene, while intensive bush combing and manhunt operations are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects.
