The police on Monday arraigned one Samson Ernest, Wisdom Chibueze, John Bala and Babangida Suleiman before a Chief Magistrates’ Court, Wuse, Abuja, over alleged theft.

The police charged the defendants with joint act and theft by servant.

The prosecuting counsel, Faith Sunday, said the complainant, Victor Oyebola, reported the matter at the Utako Police Station on July 18.

Sunday alleged that the defendants, who were labourers at Apeal site, Jabi, Abuja stole Aero electricity wiring nuts and other site items including cable wires.

The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of Sections 79 and 289 of the Penal Code.

The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty.

The Magistrate, Hafsat Amiru, granted the defendants N500,000 bail each with one surety in like sum

and adjourned the matter until August 20, for hearing. (NAN)
