Four mortuary attendants working with the Ondo State Specialist Hospital, Akure, the state capital, have been docked before an Ondo magistrates’ court for alleged involvement in the disappearance of a day-old baby’s corpse.

Chief Magistrate Mrs. Bob Manuel, who admitted the accused persons to bail, said the case was a sensitive one, but that no tangible evidence has been established against them.

The suspects were granted bail in the sum of N500,000 each or a landed property worth the bail bond. They were further ordered to provide a surety who must be a civil servant on at least Grade Level 9.

The case was adjourned to July 2, 2019, for hearing.

The corpses of both mother and baby had been deposited at the morgue after the woman was said to have died during childbirth.
