An Ilorin Magistrates’ Court has ordered the remand of four persons for attacking a vigilante, Muritala Ajibaye, and destroying his car in the process.

Magistrate Ibrahim Mohammed ordered the remand of Hamza Mohammed, 20, Ola Olupako, 20, Jordan Yero, 23, Kehinde Ayoku, 20, on the plea of the prosecutor.

According to the prosecutor, Inspector Nasiru Yusuf, Ajibaye while returning from work in his Toyota Camry car, was attacked by the suspects.

He had charged the four suspects and others still at large with criminal conspiracy, criminal intimidation, and causing hurt contrary to sections 97, 396 & 266 of the Penal Code Law.

The prosecutor, therefore, urged the court to remand the accused in prison due to the severity of their offence and also to allow the police to conclude investigations.

But defense counsel led by Toyin Onaolapo pleaded that the accused be released on bail.

The case was adjourned till February 1st, 2022 for further mention.
