4 suspected armed robbers arrested in Delta

Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested four suspected armed robbers with assorted arms.

City & Crime reports that the suspects were arrested in Sapele in Sapele LGA and along Issele-Asagba Express Way in Aniocha North Local Government Area respectively.

The Public Relations Officer of the command, SP Bright Edafe, disclosed this to newsmen in Asaba.

Edafe said three of the suspects identified as Blessing Atima (23),

of Jesse Community in Ethiope West Local Government Area, who is the gang leader, Destiny Okpako ( 23) of Oviri-Okpe Community in Okpe Local Government Area and

Wisdom Akpohirowho (20) of Jesse Community in Ethiope West Local Government Area of the State, confessed to have participated in six robbery operations in Sapele.

He said some victims identified the suspects and their valuables recovered from them.

Edafe also disclosed that one Usman Bello (40) was arrested for alleged armed robbery.

He said, the suspect who pretended to be a mentally unstable person, was arrested at an uncompleted building along Issele-Asagba Express Way.

The command’s image maker said items recovered from the suspects are one locally made fabricated Beretta pistol, one Beretta pistol, one locally cut-to-size gun.

Others are three cutlasses, phones and  ATM cards belonging to the victims.
