Detectives from the Lagos State Police Command have arrested four members of a syndicate, Jeremiah Ekanem, Bashiru Mohammed, Abdullahi Yerima, and Hassan Abdul, who specialise in stealing tricycles from warehouses.

It was learnt that luck ran against the suspects after they broke into the warehouse of a mobility firm and stole four new tricycles.

The command’s spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the arrest and recovery of the tricycles, said while Jeremiah was arrested in Ondo town in Ondo State, Bashir was arrested in Mile 12, Lagos where he put the tricycle into commercial use.

He said Abdullahi and Hassan were both arrested in the Idiroko area of Ogun State.

He further said, “The arrest and recovery started on April 16, after the secretary of the mobility firm in Ojota reported at the Ogudu Police Station that at about 7am of same date he received a report that three of the company’s tricycles had been stolen.

“Based on the strength of the report, detectives swung into action and tracked the tricycles to different locations from where four suspects were arrested.”
