40 students get N1.2m scholarships

Gulani Local Government Area Youth Forum (GYF) has disbursed cash, worth 1.2 million naira to 40 students across the local government area studying at different parts of the country.

Speaking during the disbursement ceremony, the chairman of the forum, Alh. Jafa’ar Kukuwa, said the initiative was done as a result of the efforts made by two of Hon. Mai Mala Buni’s allies in persons of Dr. Mohammed Goje and Abubakar Mohammed K  (Zannah Dujima of Gujba).

He said candidates were drawn from 12 political wards across the local government area and each beneficiary received the sum of thirty thousand naira (N30,000) respectively.

Also speaking, the Executive Secretary of State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Dr. Mohammed Goje, at the disbursement ceremony, said the gesture was done mainly to compliment the efforts of Hon. Mai Mala Buni’s passion for education.

In his remarks, the Zannah Dujima of Gujba, Alh. Abubakar Mohammed Kukuwa, who doubled as the chairman of the occasion, said they will strive to see that the gesture will sustain mainly to assist the vulnerable students that are from poor background so as to further their education.
