No fewer than 40 Turkish investors are expected to participate in the forthcoming Abia–Türkiye Investment Summit and Product Exhibition (TURAB 2025), which will take place from November 25 to 27, 2025, at the International Conference Centre, Umuahia.

The international event, themed “Bridging Continents, Unlocking Prosperity,” is being organised by the Abia State Government through the Ministry of Trade and Commerce, in partnership with VEGA Growing Global Enterprise. It aims to strengthen trade relations between Nigeria and Türkiye and position Abia as a major investment destination in Africa.

 

Speaking at a press conference in Lagos on Tuesday, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Investment Promotion and Public–Private Partnership (PPP) and Chairman of the TURAB 2025 Steering Committee, High Chief J. N. Green-Amakwe, said the summit would bring together business leaders, policymakers, and investors from Türkiye, Europe, and other parts of the world to explore Abia’s economic potential.

 

He said the three-day event would feature business-to-business (B2B) meetings, product exhibitions, and panel discussions focused on opportunities in manufacturing, agriculture, textiles, fashion, leatherworks, energy, trade, logistics, and tourism.

 

“We are expecting about 40 investors from Türkiye who have already indicated interest in exploring opportunities in Abia State. The summit will showcase the state’s vast economic potential and strengthen bilateral relations between Türkiye, Abia, and Nigeria at large,” Green-Amakwe stated.

 

He added that the administration of Governor Alex Chioma Otti (OFR) is committed to building a business-friendly environment for both local and international investors, noting that an MoU with VEGA Growing Global Enterprise had been signed to ensure the smooth hosting of the summit.

 

“This is a collaborative effort involving chambers of commerce from Aba, Umuahia, Lagos, Kano, and Abuja. We also recognise the vital role of the media in shaping investor confidence, and we appreciate your continued support,” he said.

 

Also speaking, the Commissioner for Trade and Commerce, Dr. (Mrs.) Salome Nkemakolam Obiukwu, assured that the state was ready to host the world, with comprehensive security and logistics plans already in place.

 

“Under the leadership of His Excellency, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, our government remains fully committed to economic transformation and industrial growth. Abia is open for business, ready for investment, and determined to lead,” Obiukwu said.

 

The TURAB 2025 Investment Summit is expected to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Nigeria and Türkiye, attract fresh foreign investment, and reinforce Abia’s position as one of Nigeria’s fastest-growing business hubs.
