40-yr-old man arraigned over collection of N835,000 stolen property

A 40-year-old man, Almustapha Isa, was arraigned yesterday before an Ikeja magistrate court, Lagos, for allegedly collecting various stolen items valued at N835,000.
Isa was arraigned on a count charge of dishonestly collecting 600 euros (N315,000), a gold set of necklace worth N250,000, a blackberry Q10 phone valued at N20,000, a pair of eyeglasses worth N100,000, an iPod valued at N25,000, a cash sum of N25,000, one Partek wristwatch valued at N30,000, and one IWC wrist watch worth N70,000, all said alleged to be stolen property.
The prosecutor, Inspector Raji Akeem, told the court that Isa committed the offence at Berger-Isheri, Lagos, sometime in July 2018.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The presiding magistrate, Mrs Jadesola Adeyeri, granted him bail of N100,000, with two sureties who must have bank balances of not less than N50,000 each
Mrs Adeyeri adjourned the case till December 17, 2018.
