A magistrates’ court in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, has ordered the remand of a murder suspect, Femi Joseph (43) at the correctional centre in Ado-Ekiti.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court yesterday that the defendant was suspected to have murdered one Babalola Folarin on Side Road, Ikere-Ekiti.

In her statement to the police, the wife of the deceased, who reported the matter at the police station, said she got an emergency call on September 9, 2020, informing her of the death of her husband.

According to her, on getting to their site she met her husband lifeless on a bench with his neck swollen and blood gushing from his ankle.

She said prior to the day there was a misunderstanding between her husband and the defendant, who was one of his workers at the site.

The Magistrate, Mr Saka Afunso, adjourned the case to March 8.
