At least 44 young people in North Bank community of Makurdi metropolis have benefited from free skill acquisition from Tanimu Foundation.

Founder of Tanimu Foundation and a medical practitioner based in the U.S., Prof. Sabo Tanimu, has consistently over the years impacted positively on the lives of the people through the organisation’s vocational centre.

Sabo had in 2019 donated a health facility to the North Bank community just as in 2018 when he also built and equipped an ultra-modern library for them.

Speaking on behalf of this year’s beneficiaries of scholarship awards, Uper Terkula, a 300-level Philosophy student of the Benue State University in Makurdi, who received N125,000, said the philanthropist had remained consistent in his determination to lift the poor from doldrums of illiteracy.

Terkula hailed Tanimu’s philanthropic organisation for not relenting in impacting positively on North Bank community over the years in its various form of human development aimed at making life more meaningful for the less privileged.

Beneficiaries consisting of Moslems and Christians at the graduation ceremony held at the Foundation’s vocational centre, include graduands of the fashion and designing, who were also given sewing machines and computer studies, amongst others.

Guest Speaker of the occasion, who is the Chief Imam of Benue State, Dr. Suleiman Habib, applauded the founder of the training centre for his benevolence to the people of North Bank community.

The cleric urged wealthy individuals to emulate Prof. Sabo by touching the lives of the less privileged and creating employment.

Habib also charged the beneficiaries to be sincere and trustworthy as they begin to build their own businesses.

He also advised the recipients to learn to save, build strong customers relationship and learn how to effectively manage their tools.

The Imam pledged to offer scholarship to two deserving persons  to pursue either a science course or law in a  tertiary institution in Kaduna state.
