Chairperson of this year’s edition of Mokin Day celebration, Mrs Seun Bosede Osamaye (a.k.a) Eyeomo, has congratulated all illustrious sons and daughters of Ilara Mokin who came out in their numbers from far and near to make this year’s celebration colourful and a huge success.
The celebration, held on November 18 at Alara-Mokin’s palace, was adjudged to be a huge success and the first of its kind in the history of the event.
It would be recalled that Mokin Day is a unique day set aside mostly every November for all Ilara Mokin sons and daughters to gather from all over the world to celebrate and also embark on developmental projects for the community.
As the Chairperson of the 44th edition of the Mokin Day, Osamaye, a member of the ruling All Progressive Party (APC) and a grassroots politician, while delivering her speech, said the love, honour and unity that exists within the Orisaranmilaye Family made evident when they came out in their numbers to pay homage to the king (Oba Abiodun Adefehinti, Agbekorun II, Alara of Ilara-mokin).
She noted that giving, impacting lives and rendering help to the less privileged is not a function of the position one occupies whether elective or appointee but a personal and deliberate effort to make lives better for people all around you.
According to her, “If we all play our parts in community development without waiting for government, then our society will be better and the people will be happy.”
In her words: “I really appreciated the support I received from all sons and daughters of Mokin as the chairperson of the 44th edition of Mokin Day, which made this year’s edition a huge success.”
The event which took place at the Alara of ilara-Mokin’s palace witnessed a second-to-none attendance and was accompanied with unprecedented blessings to all. The climax of the event was the launch of five hundred million fundraising for development projects in the community.
Recall that Ilara-Mokin is located in the central part of Ifedore Local Government Area of Ondo State. Ilara-Mokin is about 12 km from Akure, the Ondo state capital.
