The Ekiti State Police Command and other security operatives yesterday launched the “Show of Force” to deter perpetrators of violence in   Saturday’s election.
The Commissioner of Police, Taiwo Lakanu who led the team, moved round the state and told journalists that the joint security team considered all areas in the state as flashpoints.
He said:”This is to show our level of preparedness for the elections. We are going round to let people who may want to cause violence to know that we are ready for them. We are treating all the areas as flash points because problems can emanate from anywhere. We have an intervention unit in all the senatorial districts as dictated by the Inspector General of Police. We are using all our arsenals in our armoury. We are using all the logistics to curtail activities of those planning evil”.
