National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, (NDLEA) inspecting hard drug

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), said it arrested 374 drug traffickers and secured 58 convictions between June, 2021, and June, 2022, in Edo State.

NDLEA’s State Commander, Buba Wakawa, disclosed this yesterday in Benin while marking the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

He said the command also destroyed 48 cannabis farms with a cumulative measurement of 63.84125 hectares within the period under review.

According to him, the command also successfully rehabilitated 257 drug-dependent clients and reunited them with their families.

He said, “We arrested 384 drug traffickers, 281 male and 93 female. Also, we seized psychotropic substances amounting to 26,960.593. We also secured 58 convictions, while 76 cases are pending in a Federal High Court.”
