The Yobe State government has announced the recovery of 48 rustled cows in the Tarmuwa and Damaturu Local Government Areas.

The Chairman of the State Government Standing Committee on the Recovery of Rustled Cattle and other Livestock, Brigadier General Dahiru Abdulsalam (Retired), confirmed the development to journalists in Damaturu, the state capital.

He said the 48 stranded cows were recovered without any trace of a herdsman or owner.

According to Abdulsalam, the cows were found last week in the general area between Mafa and Sassawa in the Tarmuwa and Damaturu LGAs by a combined team of operatives from the Nigerian Army and the Hunters Group who were on an operation.

Abdulsalam called on the owners of the cows to come forward with proof of ownership to claim their livestock.
