The President of HuCaPAN, Dr Olufemi Ogunlowo, said: “The private employment industry currently employs over 4m Nigerians of management and non-management cadre in Nigeria and abroad with the volume of funds spent on salaries and others in our industry up to the tune of 1.7trn annually.”

At the event, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Employment, Ms. Kachollom Daju, also said the federal government would intensify efforts to rid the country of unscrupulous and unregistered Private Employment Agencies (PEA).

The government has also digitised the process of registering recruiters to “ensure efficient and timely processing of applications for recruiter’s licence,” noted Daju, represented by a Director, Mr John Nayamali.

He said, “It must be pointed out that the level of compliance with guidelines by PEAs, including HuCaPAN members, is still low.
