Abuja and Lagos have hosted a number of A-list international celebrities this year for concerts, premiers, you name it. Weekend Magazine takes a look at a few of them who delivered a memorable experience during their visits.
Keri Hilson
Keri Hilson has visited Nigeria before, back in 2012 when she performed in Abuja. This time around, besides performing, the producer, songwriter and singer also spoke at the Tony Elumelu entrepreneurship programme as well.
John Boyega
It’s safe enough to say that Boyega has made Nigeria his second home. The British-Nigerian actor visited Nigeria earlier in the year for the VIP screening of his movie Pacific Rim; Uprising in Lagos and also, a business meeting hosted by Play Network in the nation’s capital. The Star Wars star was also present last year in December where he attended Wizkid’s concert and also, the Calabar festival.
Major Lazer
Although part of the group, Diplo has visited Nigeria before, this is the first time the group has made the trip together. Diplo, Jillionaire and Walshy Fire, the trio that make up EDM group Major Lazer, headlined a concert in Lagos to rave reviews and massive turnout as well.
Blac Chyna
The model and reality star came to Nigeria just last month to promote her new cream in Lagos and also, to host an event organized by Play Network in Abuja. Blac Chyna got a taste of Nigerian jollof rice and called it, “the best.”

Best selling American rapper, J Cole, made his first trip to Nigeria this year where he performed at the Castle Light Unlocks Concert in Lagos. The multi platinum was pleasantly surprised by the reception he got when the crowns erupted with applause when he mounted the stage and said that he will definitely revisit Nigeria in the near future.
