The Kogi State Police Command has said its operatives rescued five kidnap victims from their abductors.
The command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Williams Aya, disclosed on Friday in Lokoja, saying the rescue took place on Thursday through the Adogo Division led by SP Yusuf Hanti in collaboration with local vigilantes.
He said the five kidnap victims were earlier abducted by hoodlums at Asuare Area of Ajaokuta Local Government Area.

He added that the kidnap victims were abducted on May 17, 2024 while on transit along the Ajaokuta-Adogo Road.
However, the police command said one Iliyasu Abubakar was shot dead while one other person sustained bullet wound on his right chest by hoodlums suspected to be kidnappers at the Ojode area in Ankpa.
