It is not unusual for famous female names to remain same long after they are married. Joke Silva is one of them. Married for over 27 years to veteran actor Oludotun Jacobs, popularly known as Olu Jacobs, the award winning actor and actress have continued to soar high in their career. They have both featured in many Nigerian movies. Jacobs has starred in British television shows and series. He played a minor role in John Irvin’s war film, Dogs of War based on the novel written by Frederick Forsyth long before Nollywood became a household name in Nigeria. Silva on the other hand has been referred to in some quarters as the godmother of modern Nollywood. It is not strange to see her play tutor in entertainment reality shows or as a judge in some competitions. As they grow older, their relationship appears to wax stronger, unlike most celebrities. The couple are known to be selective in the roles they play on screen which portrays them as principled individuals of like minds.

This couple share the same passion – Singing. Just as their popularly known name T.W.O. suggests, they are two of a kind both facially and in size. They had both been in different bands before coming together in 1988. Wunmi is a wife, mother, singer and entrepreneur, the kind of mix that is known to pose a challenge to most marriages, but she says in an interview with a national daily that “It’s all by the grace of God and prioritising. In anything, you have to prioritise. By prioritising, I can decide what comes first and what I can do without. First, I am a mother and a wife, every other thing comes behind.”

Despite filtering allegations of infidelity on some news sites, Richard Mofe Damijo, a star actor – renowned since the times of the popular soap, Checkmate – and his wife Jumobi Adegbesan, appear to be staying strong. In 2012, while celebrating his wife who turned 40, Damijo had added to a twit, ‘please quell the rumours.’ His present wife was formally the presenter of Lunch Break on AIT.
