Spokesman of the group, Biem, told the governor elect that they were at his resident to felicitate with him and to urge him to reconcile the people of the state as soon as he takes over power next month.
The group also tasked Ortom to transform the state by initiating policies that would have direct bearing in the lives of the common people with particular reference to the teeming jobless youths.
While responding, the governor elect assured that he would focus on reconciling the people of the state in his first 100 days in office, noting that if the people were united they can do much more than remaining in their separate ways. He added that his administration would tap the talents of all the people of the state irrespective of ethnicity, political and religious affiliations in order to provide quality service to the people even as he pledged to promote excellence above sycophancy and mediocrity.
Most of the PDP aspirants who contested or stepped down their ambitions during the party’s primary won by Prince Terhemen Tarzoor went behind the scene while the battle raged between Ortom who defected to the All Progressive Congress (APC) and the defeated PDP candidate.
