The estates have a total of 400 housing units for various categories of public servants in the FCT.
The estates financed by the Federal Government Staff Housing Loans Board were commissioned by FCT Minister Bala Mohammed.
Mohammed said the provision of the houses will improve the lot of the Nigerian workforce.
He said with the establishment of Nigeria Mortgage Refinance Company, additional funds are available for public servants to complete their housing projects.
The minister who was represented by Mr U.J. Jibril encouraged the board to explore the new housing policy for more funding for the public servants housing scheme.
Speaking earlier, the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Ahaji Bukar Goni Aji thanked President Goodluck Jonathan for his promotion of welfare of the public servants as priority of this administration.
He said several housing policies have been instituted by past administrations but could not achieve the desired result due to challenges.
Amidst the challenges however, he said the present administration has continued to demonstrate commitment to staff welfare believing that a well-motivated bureaucracy is the engine that drives government projects and programmes.
He said government in 2010 approved the release of a special grant to address backlog of loans application in the staff housing loans board.
The Head of Service pleaded with government also to introduce a special intervention for the board to process payment for hundreds of thousands of applications which currently amount to N84 billion naira.
The Executive Secretary of the board, Dr. Hannatu Fika said the commissioning of the estates is a signpost that the present administration is worker friendly.
She reassured the administration of public servants’ loyalty and commitment for effective and efficient service delivery in return for the motivation provided by government.
Beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the government and promised to contribute their quotas to the transformation and reform initiative of the present administration.
The estates were named after past Heads of Civil Service of the Federation: Abu Obe Housing Estate,  Steve Oronsaye Housing Estate, Oladapo Afolabi Housing Estate, Isa Bello Salli Housing Estate.
