Victor Osimhen

The ever-in-form Super Eagles striker took centre stage for Galatasaray in Amsterdam, producing a hat-trick in the 3-0 win over Ajax at the Johan Cruijff Arena. The feat marked him as the second Nigerian ever to hit a Champions League hat-trick (after Yakubu Aiyegbeni in 2002) and the first Galatasaray player to do so since Burak Yilmaz in 2012. Moreover, Osimhen has now overtaken Obafemi Martins as Nigeria’s top-scorer in European competitions (with 25 goals), plus he achieved two consecutive European games with a brace and earned the club’s MVP in three straight Champions League matches.

 

David Moses

The 21-year-old Nigerian starlet – tipped for a call-up by the Super Eagles’ coach – had a chance to stake his claim but was forced off in the 74th minute after a heavy clash during Slavia Praha’s fixture against Arsenal. Before his exit he completed 69% of his passes, created one key pass, made two tackles, two recoveries and two clearances — showing glimpses of the all-action midfield presence that his national team coach would value.

 

Raphael Onyedika

Back from an injury lay-off, Onyedika started for Club Brugge in their thrilling 3-3 draw with Barcelona in the Champions League.
