Abuja is Nigeria’s capital city. With millions of people living here and making ends meet, there can be very limited time for fun. It is however wise to make the best out of it and find the time for fun.
Around this time every year, Nigerians far and wide get excited, because not only is there the long weekend to look forward to, but the celebration of Eid-el-Fitr is always a delight.
However rather than just eating delicious Sallah meals and movies, why not take out time to have some fun? We have compiled a list of some things you can do this weekend
Go for Eid prayers: This is the most important aspect of the festival. This is the first thing that should be done on this day. So head to the prayer ground with family and friends, and thank the Almighty Allah for the gift of life and for the provision of wonderful things.

Have a picnic: In Abuja, there are many beautiful parks where people can visit with their families and loved ones and have a good time. Today is a holiday, so visit any of these parks and to do something nice and special. This can also help you save your money because you can prepare food from your home to enjoy with your loved ones while having fun on a day like this.
Go shopping: Are you a shopaholic? Do you love to shop? You’re fortunate because Abuja has some of the most luxurious shopping malls and centres from Banex plaza to the popular Jabi lake mall and Grand Square. If you’ve got extra cash to spare, you can get yourself anything from souvenirs to designer clothes.
Visit loved ones: With very busy schedules, it can become hard to make time out to call friends and find out what’s going on in their lives. This weekend is the best time to check on some of these friends. Mingle with them and catch fun. Try to make the best out of this holiday period.
Try Kayaking: Ever of the word ‘Kayaking’? Well, it is a type of sport that involves taking a ride in a hollow boat that can carry just one person at a time. This is also an opportunity to keep fit so go along with your family and friends and hit the water with a kayak. This is an excellent choice for a rare public holiday.
We all love holidays because they are the best time to relax either with family and friends or with someone special.
Have a wonderful Eid-el-Fitr celebration!!!
