The police in Edo State have arrested five women, Iziegbe Ogbodu (39), Jennifer Eboigbe (30), Naomi Ekhonetomwan (17), Lucky Endurance (16) and Blessing Lucky (15), over allegedly stripping another woman, Christabel Akhigbe, naked over alleged phone theft and uploading her nude video on social media.

The state’s Commissioner of Police (CP), Funsho Adeboye, explkained that the suspects accused their victim of stealing an Android phone belonging to Blessing Lucky and called her to return the said phone.

He said after victim allegedly returned the phone to the owner, they lured her into Blessing Lucky’s mother’s house, stripped her, beat her and threatened to apply pepper inside her private parts while making a video of the scene which the later posted on social media.

Adegboye, who disclosed that the suspects confessed to the crime, added that one of them, Jenifer Eboigbe, said, “My daughter came to me that her phone was stolen. After some days we retrieved the phone from her (victim). The girl begged me that they shouldn’t beat her, but despite my plea, they went ahead to strip her naked. I am ashamed of what they did because I am a mother.”
