A five-year-old boy, simply identified as Salmanu, was reportedly found in a pool of blood with a cut on his neck in a village in Kazaure LGA of Jigawa State.

The boy reportedly died in the hospital where he was rushed to after losing excessive blood.

The state’s police spokesman, DSP Lawal Shiisu, who confirmed the incident, also said that suspected kidnappers on Tuesday night invaded Gantsa town in Buji LGA and abducted the father of Hon Sale Baba Buji, representing Buji Constituency in the House of Assembly, noting that the kidnappers were yet to contact the family, but assured that the police were on top of the situation.

He said a similar abduction was reported in Kudai village on the outskirts of Dutse, where some people called a bricklayer with a promise to offer him a building contract, but that on getting to them by the roadside, they grabbed and strangled him to death.

He noted that an investigation was ongoing to arrest all the suspects.
