The lecturers who are from different Nigerian universities and academic fields are expected to teach at the Ugandan Islamic University.
Speaking at the departure ceremony, TAC’s Director General Dr. Pius Osunyinkanmi urged the lecturers to be good ambassadors of the country.
He said the programme was revived and expanded in line with the transformation agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan, adding that “the country you are going to is desirous of your services and you cannot afford to give less than what is desired of you.”
While congratulating the volunteers, Dr. Olasunkanmi warned them against indulging in any activity that would tarnish the image of Nigeria in that country.
“Discipline should be your watch word. You are carrying the Nigerian flag, and you must be able to do Nigeria proud. Market and project Nigeria positively, letting them know that Nigeria is a country that is peaceful, progressive and developing,” he said.
