The Executive Secretary of Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), Dr Abdullahi Bichi Baffa has disclosed that over 50 per cent of its 2017 direct intervention fund has been accessed by higher institutions across the country.
Dr Baffa who disclosed this during a radio programme yesterday, said out of the N44 billion allocated for academic training of lecturers and the sum of N300 million had been provided to each of the public higher institutions. He said over 20,000 scholars have been sponsored and trained in higher academic pursuit.
President Muhammadu Buhari had allocated the sum of N213 billion as direct intervention funds to all public higher institutions in Nigeria.
