As the Graduate Internship Scheme (GIS) is drawing to an end, 500 graduates’ beneficiaries have commenced three day course on career development and entrepreneurship training to prepare them for future engagements.
Addressing the graduates during the opening ceremony of the training, GIS Project Director, Mr. Peter Pakpa said the training programme was in fulfillment of the promise made during orientation.
The director, whose address was read by Mr. Monday Akpan, added that the training was conducted in five centres with 100 interns at each centre, saying the graduates would be trained on evaluation of job market and understanding the process of recruitment, tips for preparing and uploading CVs would also be learnt among other issues. The training was expected to help the participants to develop their own action plan that would guide their future lives.
A consultant with GIS Dr. Mahmood Mukhtar Sa’id stated that the course would place the participants on a position to give meaningful contribution to national development.
