The National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) has conducted a medical outreach targeting 50,000 people in Kirfi local government area of Bauchi state.
The medical outreach was conducted to appreciate one of the agency’s staff for her outstanding performance.
Aisha Lami Abubakar, the Director of Administration and Human Resources of the agency was awarded the most outstanding staff in 2017.
The award was an initiative introduced by the agency to appreciate commitment and contributions by staff of the agency.
In his opening remarks, the Executive Director of the agency, Dr Faisal Shuaib said that the agency conducts the medical outreach which was the first to appreciate the contributions of the agency’s director who hailed from the area.
He said that the agency will continue to reward hard work and dedication by its staff in order to motivate them to put in more.
Dr Shuaib also noted that it will also sanction staff who refuse to adhere to the work ethics of the agency or found wanting.
He said that about 50,000 people are targeted to benefit from the medical outreach which will last for some days.
He therefore called on members of the community to utilise the opportunity and visit the General Hospital where doctors are ready to check and provide medicine or refer them to secondary healthcare centres for further treatment.
In her remark, the recipient of the award whose community benefited from the medical outreach, Aisha Lami Abubakar expressed her gratitude to the agency for recognising her hard work.
She called on members of the community to see the gesture as a token of appreciation of one of their own and present themselves at the venue of the outreach to be examined by doctors.
In a welcome address, the head of administration and acting chairman of Kirfi local government, Abubakar Shuaibu commended Hajiya Aisha for making the community proud through her honesty and dedication to work.
In his remarks, the father of the recipient, Bello Kirfi thanked the agency for recognising his daughter.
He also commended the head of the agency and her coworkers who he said are all part of the success being recorded by the agency in primary healthcare delivery in the country.
